Accident & Injury Free
Project Management and construction puts the highest priority on Health & Safety. We have our own Health & Safety Manager whose entire focus is on our target of zero accidents and to ensure that everyone adheres to our Health & Safety Policy.
From handover of the CDM Co-ordinator's pre-construction plan to issue and implementation of the full Construction Phase Plan, our Health & Safety Manager ensures that the project is planned, managed, monitored and reviewed in accordance with our efforts to continually improve on current legislation. Management of Health & Safety goes all the way through our business and includes subcontractors and the entire supply chain.
The core of good Health & Safety management is assessing risk and working to approved method statements, not just ticking the right boxes on a form. We insist on the submission and review of job specific risk assessments and method statements prior to any work activity and that all operatives have the necessary certifications or training to carry out their tasks with a full understanding of the safety implications both for themselves and for those around them.
The foundation for good Health & Safety is professional training at all levels. Each year at PMCL we establish a Training Schedule for all staff in conjunction with CITB ConstructionSkills, tailoring their training to suit the requirements of their job. For instance, Directors receive IOSH Directing Safely training and all Site Managers are fully SMSTS and First Aid qualified.
