Park Terrace Developments
18 Park Terrace, Glasgow is a prestigious 1855 townhouse building originally designed by Charles Wilson. The work entails the full refurbishment and rebuilding of the internal and external fabric to create three high quality apartments and a single dwelling in the Mews. The listed building’s facade has been retained following fire damage several years ago.
On being appointed Preferred Contractor, PM&CL engaged with the client and design team to value engineer the project to make it financially viable. This collaborative approach is a hallmark of how Project Management & Construction Ltd’s input can make projects go from drawing board to completion.
The construction method consists of the use of mini piles supporting the foundations and basement floor slab. A steel portal frame supports the individual PC concrete floors and roof as well as the main support for the existing stonework facade.
The roof finish is of a traditional slate on a combination of truss and hand cut timbers. Underfloor heating will be installed on all floors.
Works will be carried out to the exterior stonework to retain all the existing features.
The internal finishes include high specification sanitaryware and quality ceramic floor and wall tiles. Ornate cornicing, feature columns and new sash and case windows will again create the look of the original the building.
