NISA Newarthill was a purpose built Convenience Store and Post Office, all a double block skin build, which including insulation achieved latest U Values.
A tricky attic truss design roof was comprised of 13m long timbers, all double trussed and bolted together for strength, then covered with concrete roof tiles. Allowing this space to be used as storage and office space.
An unusual design feature of this building was the insistence of the use of Terrazzo floor tiles, which are usually only found in larger Superstores etc.
The latest and up to date ventilation system was installed, which took cognisance of the AC heating so both systems don’t battle for supremacy.
All new display fridges and freezers were installed.
State of the art alarms and CCTV were also installed. This allows the client to monitor customers and staff.
