BARONY UNIVERSAL PRODUCTS, IRVINE
Barony Universal, an aerosol container manufacturer who are expanding their operations with the opening of a new production facility in Irvine. This negotiated Design & Build contract gave us the opportunity to work closely with the client in order to develop the design in line with their business requirements, programme and cost.
The programming of the works was of paramount importance and sectional handovers were agreed from the outset to allow Barony Universal early access to enable them to install their processing and production equipment. Particular regard was paid to environmental considerations.
The main scope of works is to compartmentalise an existing 11,500 m2 factory unit with 2 hour fire walls, creation of process area and laboratory, offices, workshop and staff areas.
Externally, we were responsible for the design and construction of a new LPG and Ethanol tank farms as well as a flammable goods store. The design was developed in line with current HSE guidelines. The construction included the diversion of existing HV power cables, a high pressure gas main and water main as well as the re-alignment of an existing road.
