Neglected since the 1980’s and with its original function as a tunnel entrance a long since forgotten, the South Rotunda was well overdue some care and attention. We were therefore delighted when Malin Marine presented us with the opportunity to bring it back to life. This re-birth was carried out in three stages, comprising external conservation and repair, insertion of a new internal structure and finally fitting out. Throughout, PM&CL proved to have the right combination of commercial awareness and construction management skill to meet the challenges presented, having successfully tendered for all three stages. The work was carried out in a spirit of cooperation and in a non-confrontational manner, which in our experience always leads to a better result. We look forward to working with the team at PM&CL in the future.
PM&C have just completed an extension to our office. Given the extension was on a redundant plant area on the 10th floor of The Eagle Building in Glasgow City Centre this was not the easiest project to undertake. The work required multiple crane lifts, road closures, very careful planning and programming and significant health and safety considerations. The work was carried out in a very professional and proficient manner – on time and on budget and we are delighted with the finished result- all credit to PM&CL and their staff.
From the outset PM&CL were very proactive undertaking surveys of the existing building and services. This enabled the design team to ensure their detailing was reflective of the constraints of the building and allowed a comprehensive identification of service routes and the presence of asbestos.
There were no issues with quality and health and safety on the site. PM&CL actively managed all the specialist trades and suppliers and the management from PM&CL were always eager to assist hWS and the council.
Project Management & Construction Ltd displayed a collaborative approach at all times and resolved any problems arising in a co-operative and proactive manner. In particular, the Site Manager’s relationship with the Centre Management and traders was excellent. There were no significant Health & Safety issues during the project.
With their intimate knowledge of the building and their positive approach, we have no hesitation in recommending them for future projects.
Page \ Park have recently completed a project at Linburn, West Lothian, for the Scottish War Blinded with Project Management and Construction.
This £2.7 million project consisted of a small housing development and a sports hall, which are associated with the existing adjacent day centre for the Scottish War Blinded.
We have been very please with the performance of PMC on this project, both on the quality of the build and their adherence to budget and programme.
We would have no hesitation in recommending them for future projects with Page \ Park, and also for projects for other clients for work of a similar scale and nature.
PM&CL worked exceptionally well and transparently with both Renfrewshire Council and the design team. During challenging times PM&CL demonstrated innovation and a willingness to work together to achieve the employers requirements. This particular project was extremely demanding and without the endeavors of PM&CL would not have been as successful. Their experience and input has been hugely beneficial to our project. The team are very client focused and well resourced to meet the challenging needs of this project.
The overall approach of Project Management and Construction has been very refreshing, with a proactive and collaborative approach being adopted from the outset. All members of the team have been friendly and pleasant to work with and it’s clear everyone shares the vision for the building and the client’s aspirations for the completed building, ensuring that quality is kept high at all times.
